RIM: BlackBerry 10 arrives January 30, 2013
There stood the little Blackberry Jam summit during which the Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM) announced the arrival of its next OS, Blackberry 10, for the first quarter of 2013. In a new press release, the company states that the OS will arrive on 30 January 2013 and will be launched at the same time as two new terminals of the brand.
The company, which has launched OS simultaneously in several countries, said to be in talks with nearly 50 mobile operators are already testing the next smartphones. In addition, government agencies will be able to deploy a fleet of devices with BlackBerry 10 as RIM has just received FIPS 140-2 certification.
The new expected in this new version of the OS from RIM are, among others, the possibility to directly access an application without having to return to the home screen, all applications being executed in the background. In addition, the company is back on the Blackberry Hub which brings together all the messages and all notifications and access with a simple gesture. There is also an integration of Balance magazine, which can better manage personal and professional profiles. The OS also announced a more browser compatible with HTML 5 pages and an improved keyboard with multilingual correction.

The company intends to launch a promotional campaign before the official launch of the OS, allowing users to discover new features that were not presented during the summit Blackberry Jam. It could therefore find a competing offer of iCloud. As for the Playbook tablets, they may also have to update to the new OS. So we'll see in January if RIM can keep its third place against the rise of Microsoft and its Windows Phone 8.
