Hello and welcome back to America’s Got Talent. This is Chris in KS, here once again to bring you all the action from tonight’s “faux” finals. All during the last two weeks we were led to believe that this week is the finals. However this is truly the semi-finals. We will now see the top ten acts and we the voters will decide who we want to see in the final four next week, which will truly be the finals. The wife is at a meeting tonight, so like Jason Derulo, I’ll be ridin’ solo…(yes, that was lame, thank you very much!)
Tonight’s first act, and last week’s controversial pick, is Studio One Young Beast Society. Last week they were the judges' selection over Alice Tan Ridely. Tonight they are on stage wearing matching black outfits with silver and blue trim. They continue their own trend of doing a lot of really cool tricks mixed in with their dancing. I think they were really good tonight. Piers says that every time we see them they are more ambitious, and it took a lot of guts to go after some of the stunts they did that they were missing in rehearsal. Sharon says that their passion and ambition really show through in their dancing and all the judges appreciate how hard they work. Howie said they were absolutely phenomenal tonight and that they were the best act so far tonight! (Ever the jokester you are, Howie!)
The next act tonight, and a controversial pick from the first round of semi-finals, is Christina & Ali. They are singing “I Love You I Do” from Dreamgirls and start off on a platform with multi-level blocks on them. After the first verse they come towards the front of the stage and some dancers come out on stage and dance on said blocks. Tonight is honestly the first time I think that Christina & Ali sound good and possibly deserve to be here. Sharon said Christina hitting some of the notes she did were incredible and really enjoyed their act tonight. Howie said they make everyone smile, but the scary part is that they have to compete against some of the acts that they do even though they were great tonight. Piers thinks that they have blossomed into some natural entertainers but they are not the best technical singers in the competition.
