A budget of € 14 million. This is the not inconsiderable sum given by the Ile-de-France Regional Council in the film industry. This effort, which will be recalled from 15 to 26 May at the Cannes Film Festival, head up the community of French regions in terms of financing and the seventh art audiovisual and is the second largest source of public funding after the CNC (National Centre for Cinematography).

This year, and are no less than twelve films supported by the Ile-de-France to be presented at Cannes, including "Young and Pretty" by François Ozon, in competition, or "the bastards" Claire Denis in the Un Certain Regard.
An "engine of growth" for the region
Unselfish help? Not really. "Cinema is a growth engine for the Ile-de-France and all Parisians with 20,000 permanent jobs and more than 120,000 jobs intermittent," says the regional council.

Since 2001, the community has spent almost € 135 million for the production of more than 600 works.
